HMAS Fremantle J246 and M246
Built by Evans Deakin, Brisbane.
Commisioned March 24, 1943.
Served in Northern Australia, New Guinea, Borneo and the Philipines. Swept mines in Hong Kong. Served as national service training vessel and involved in British atomic tests. Put into reserve 1959 and sold to Tokyo for scap in 1961.
Named after Fremantle, Western Australia
HMAS Gawler J188 and B241
Built by BHP, Whyalla, South Australia.
Commissioned August 14, 1942.
Joined RN Eastern Fleet based in Colombo. In 1943 served in Mediterranean, involved in Sicily landings. Attacked by Luftwaffe near Gibraltar. Served in British Pacific Fleet in Okinawa and Hong Kong.
Sold to Turkish Navy 1946 as"Ayvalik." Scrapped 1963.

HMAS Geelong J201
Built Williamstown, Victoria.
Commissioned January 16, 1942.
Fired on Japanese midget submarines in Sydney Harbour, 1942. Served on East coast convoys. On October 18, 1944, north of Langemak, New Guinea, the ship was struck by a US tanker, "York". Cut in two the corvette sank, no crew were lost.
